Fly Tying-Tungsten Epoxy Scud

February 22, 2010 - 1:32 pm 7 Comments

Fishing notes: This fly is a tank! Very heavy. Kim fishes the spring creeks more than anyone else I know and he seems to have them dialed. He uses this fly as his point and many times can avoid using split shot all together. This is the perfect fly for a shallow riffle into a deep pool. It gets down to the fishes level ASAP. A must for the upcoming trout season. Sign up at www.tightlinesflyshop.com to get the free fly of the month.

Rainy’s makes a scud out of stretch tubing and they are great. The trick is keeping the spacing even enough to be able to pick the dubbing out. The other great advantage of this scud is its weight.
