    but you see, dr, that’s just it: the magnetic pick-ups at the strings don’t have to directly amplify the signal. You gotta get beyond the Descart syndrome (“I think, therefore I amp”).

    Instead the signal fed into the pickups can be INTERPOLATED into information and fed into a synthesizer. The key is the speed of the frets. It was first developed by the Hitites who made the guitar out of clay. The ultimate is two guitars and just the minute sound of the fingertips in the grid, bypassing keys.

    Actually, Stanley can play a guitar in regular fashion quite well, I guess he’s just used what techniques and theory he knew for play an instrument and decided it was time to progress to an innovative different way of playing. Very fascinating…
