If leaves from a tree in your yard fall into a next door neighbors yard. Do you have to rake them or does the neighbor?

depends on your neighbor, if they hate the tree you could be forced to trim it or work something out about raking the leaves, if they dont care they could rake the leaves themselves. Talk to them if it is a problem try working something out in some states unless there is a fence involved its considered natures problem in other states it is yours. Growing up we had a tree that shed leaves in the neigbors yard and we rked them or they raked them whoever got there first but we also didnt complain when they set up their kiddy pool in the corner of our yard and we took turns mowing the no man land between the two fences. Its best to try to get along first.

I really don’t think it matters who rakes them up but it kind of depends on your neighbor. Do you think he is gonna care if so then i would probably rake it up just to avoid conflict (cause you live right next to him and you might live next to him for a long time just make sure to ask permission first to go on his property, avoid law suit )Also leaves are good for the lawn anyway and it’s almost winter so it’s kind of free fertiliser. (I live in the country if you can’t tell.)

I don’t think your neighbor is going to make you rake leaves that fall into their yard.

However, it might be a nice gesture to offer to rake them, especially if your neighbor is elderly, or just as a nice "neighborly" gesture.

Here in Florida if it lands in your yard it is yours to take care of. Branches, leaves etc. where the problem comes in is trees that take out houses or roofs. This is when a lawyer comes in ,and insurance gets involved.Unless it is from Hurricane or tornado then it is your problem again.
