Kentia palm infected? Fungus? Bugs?

My kentia palm (interior) has been doing well for 3 months. Now, small spots are appearing on stems and leaves. It’s not from inside the plant (i.e. not diseased) because when I wipe off these dry, yellow/gray spots with a towel the healthy stem appears underneath.

Do you know what these are? Should I spray with pesticide (I’ve used Dr. Earth organic non-toxic brand before.) or, just keep wiping them off? BTW, they’re everywhere and it will be hard to get to the top of the 13′ palm. :-( Thanks in advance.
