FULL Collection: MAC Cosmetics – To the Beach Collection: Photos and Swatches
To the Beach debuts in-store on May 27th, 2010 in the U.S./Canada, as far as I know. There are preview parties at select locations on May 18th. Otherwise, it should be available online around May 25th.
This is quite the launch, with 31 products releasing all at once. You can think of the collection in two parts — the traditional color collection and a secondary bronzing collection. The packaging doesnt do anything for me either way; I dont find it particularly cheap or tacky, but it doesnt blow me away either. I like the mixture of products in this launchthere are some bright pops of color, subtler, more wearable colors, and everything in-between. I think its well-rounded collection thats perfect for summer (with the color selections), but its pretty wearable.

I have a question – I’m contemplating on whether or not I want to buy the powdered bronzer. The only thing that’s making me go for it is of course, the packaging – it’s so cute! The colors are permanent, and I was thinking that if I ran out, would I be able to depot the empty pan and refill the pretty orange case? Because online, the permanent bronzers are .30 oz and the To the Beach ones are .35 oz . . . do you know what I mean? Help, please?!

if it hadnt been for this vid then I would have bought products I dont really want! I thought the highlight was like the ultimate thing I could get but after seeing the swatches, its just alot of hipe!..I lov the oil bronzer and the lipstciks if anything in this collection.

-i am thinking about buying beachbound lipstick & easy lounger lipglass. i saw swatches & read reviews that they are very sheer & dont give off much color. I really like the shimmer they give off but its all shimmer with no color. do u think i should still get them or should i save my money?
-oh & if i were to get them, how would i wear them since they are so sheer?

@dirtandpretty I am NC 30. and Coralista are WAY different. is much more pink and coralista is much more…well coral haha! I think on your skin tone coralista is going to be a nice glowy hint of color, which will be perect for summer, cuz in summer heavy blush is horrible! I always either use a bronzer on some days, or glowy blush on others in summer time

But I have NARS and I’m wondering how similar they are. I finally went to MAC today and got my To The Beach haul (YAAAAAY) so, in a month or so, I have to promise myself I will at least go and see Coralista in person.

@dirtandpretty Coralista is one of my FAVE blushes. Its much more wearable than marine life and gives a much more believable summer glow. I understand the need for pigmented blushes and what not, but blush and highlight is supposed to look natural, and when I put the marine life on next to coralista, i asked those around me and coralista was the winner!

@kajaleyes1 Marine Life is more orange-coral and pigmented; if you are warmer and/or have a deeper skin tone, then it’s a good choice. It has a very subtle shimmer, but it’s not really shimmery.
