How to get wavy beach hair without having to go to the beach?

December 5, 2010 - 11:29 pm 1 Comment

So I have straight as a bored fine asian hair. Everytime I try to make my hair wavy (beach wavy) it turns out lookin bad… So how can I get that wavy hair overnight?

You can put your hair in braids. It works for me. I’ll put cornrows in my hair for a while then when i take them out i have really nice waves. Mine are left in for days but you can just regularly braid your hair and leave it in over night. Another option is to make waves with your flat iron. Its easy. You can try scrunching your hair.

Any problems with having beach sand as a floor?

December 3, 2010 - 9:32 pm 6 Comments

I’m planning on getting my place turned into a regular beach house… in the mountains of Colorado! I am going to whichever beach has the best quality sand and Uhauling it back to my place. Beach chairs, coolers, etc, will be lined in as my furniture. Now, the question is, what are the problems with doing this? Are there legal issues with taking sand from a beach? What about emissions the sand could have that cause allergies? Are there any emissions noticeable with contained, non vented, beach sand? Any other problems I should know about that might be helpful?

Rain actually cleans the sand at the beach like a filter. Your floor will eventualy become a breeding ground for bugs like flees and chiggers feeding on the beer, soda and chips that have fallen into it.

In palm beach county florida does the police officer having issued a moving violation have to appear in court?

December 1, 2010 - 6:30 pm 4 Comments

I received a ticket in Palm Beach County for violation of the "move over law". It’s considered a moving violations. I have requested a court date as I was unable to "move over" due to other traffic. Are the officers required to appear? If they don’t does the ticket get dismissed automatically?

Hello,

To answer your answer correctly:

The officer not appearing in court does not GUARANTEE that your ticket will be dropped. However, your chances of having the ticket dismissed will increase exponentially because the only potential prosecution witness won’t be present. It is a risk, but definitely one many people take and come out victorious.

In Florida, you can also take traffic school do have the ticket dismissed – www.floridatrafficschool.com would be the site for you.

Hope that helps – Jonny Driving School

What bullet if any can go through a tungsten carbide plate?

November 28, 2010 - 4:41 pm 5 Comments

I want to know if a bullet (Armor piercing) can go through a tungsten carbide plate. Similar to the looks of a steel plate. So any info would be nice.

Thanks.
Hey, C. I was thinking the same thing. Hey, at least it wouldn’t get scratched lol.
It is 3 inches thick.

how thick?

What metal conducts less electricity tungsten or titanium?

November 24, 2010 - 7:43 pm 3 Comments

Want a men’s ring that could have black incorporated on it so titanium and tungsten are the choices. I need something that conducts less electricity and if it’s a significant difference between the two. Also is one cheaper in quality than the other as in weight and durability?

Tungsten is a better conductor than titanium by a factor of about 6 (see link). This has nothing to do with atomic number though: the best conductor is silver, followed by copper, and then aluminum. Note that despite this difference, both are fully metallic and will conduct electricity well – you wouldn’t use titanium in wires, but you wouldn’t use it as an insulator either.

Both metals are durable. Titanium is protected from corrosion by a tough oxide layer, which can be altered by electrolysis to produce a colored layer on the titanium. Titanium is actually less strong than hardened steel, and it is a very light metal, being used a lot in airplanes. Tungsten is very dense – the same density as gold – and is hard and brittle. Tungsten has the highest melting point of any metal, meaning that tungsten objects such as rings will be sintered rather than cast (made from powder pressed together while hot), which makes it more brittle (the stuff used to armor tanks is steel with some tungsten added, which is stronger than ordinary steel). I would expect both metals to be about the same price.

What beach has the shallowest water surrounding it in the world?

In other words, what beach can you walk, not swim, the farthest away without drowning (assuming you cant swim or float)? Just walking. I assume its in the Caribbean but im not sure.

I know Varadero, Cuba has beaches like that. The water is amazing, and I could walk out towards the ocean for what seemed like forever with the water just being half-calf deep.

How does the amount of people visiting a beach, affect the ph of said beach?

October 28, 2010 - 9:27 am 1 Comment

Im starting an experiment where I have to prove, how the amount of people visiting a beach, affects its ph level. I already know the beach’s ph level is mildly alkanline, with a ph range of 7.6 to 8.4.
I want to find out if, a heavily populated beach would be either more acidic or more basic, in comparison to a less populated beach and why?

Well, you would have to consider an area not affected by the tide water coming in, which would change your results.

In an area unaffected by the tide, human contact would be in two forms, I believe:

As sebum and sweat mix up on the skin surface, they form a protective layer often referred to as the acid mantle . Acid mantle has a particular level of acidity characterized by pH from about 4 to 5.5.

The average pH level of urine is slightly acidic (6.0).

I personally think that the human contact would not produce a significant change.

Tungsten and gold wires of equal length are found to have the same resistance. What is the ratio of their radi?

October 25, 2010 - 8:01 pm 2 Comments

Tungsten and gold wires of equal length are found to have the same resistance. What is the ratio of their radii?

the resistance of a wire is given by

R= pho L/A

R=resistance
rho = resistivity
L=length
A=area

the best way to approach this is to take the ratio of resistances, using "1" for Tungsten values and "2" for gold:

R1/R2= rho 1 L1/A1 / (rho 2 L2/A2)= (rho1/rho2)(A2/A1)

looking up values on line, the resisitivity of tungsten is 5.28×10^-8 ohm -meters, and gold’s is 2.44×10^-8 ohm-m

since rho tungsten = 2.16 rho gold…then the A of the gold wire must be 2.16 times the area of the tungsten wire…since area goes as radius^2, the radius of the gold wire must be sqrt[2.16] times the radius of the tungsten wire, or 1.47 times greater

How are beach weddings like? Can you guys tell me what people do at beach weddings?

October 23, 2010 - 3:22 am 5 Comments

Im getting married in 8 months and i need to start planning! how should i start planning my beach wedding? What do people do at the weddings? what are some things needed for a wedding? Please help?

Beach Wedding Timeline
1. Choose your location wisely. Beaches are usually breezy. Try to pick a cove or area protected from direct winds for your ceremony. Be mindful of the tides.

2. Decide how many guests will be attending. Most beaches do not require a special permit for small informal weddings. Check with local authorities to be sure.

3. Find a wedding officiate local to the beach of your choice to perform your wedding ceremony. Often they specialize in beach weddings and can provide useful tips as well as very affordable package deals. Wedding packages are becoming very popular and are ideal for busy couples. Often they include everything you need from the bouquet to the photography to the filing of your marriage license.

4. Minimize your reception expenses by planning a sunset ceremony followed by a simple but elegant wine and cheese reception right on the beach.

5. Rent an outdoor canopy to protect your reception area from rain showers and uninvited seagulls. For a tropical flare, decorate the canopy with tulle and twinkling mini-lights and silk flowers. Use hurricane candles for lighting.

6. Remember your guest’s comfort and safety. Provide seating for the elderly as well as sunscreen and insect repellent just in case. If some of your guests have mobility impairments recognize that it’s nearly impossible to push a wheelchair in the sand, and it’s very hard for people who have difficulty walking to negotiate sand as well. Many beaches have walkways or platforms. Use these accordingly.

7. Thank your guests for sharing your day by presenting them with beach wedding favors such as personalized sand-dollars, seashell candles or Hawaiian Silk Leis.
