I’m not sure if you are in US, but if you are, you are not legally suppose to do ANYTHING since the child is not in special ed and not recieving any services from this.

Yes you can help anyway, but without the child being in special ed, without the school doing a formal evaluation to see what the childs problems are, HOW will you know what to do? HOW will you know what the child needs?

Children with disablities need ‘specialized’ programs that help them. And schools in USA can not legally offer these programs to a child UNLESS they are in special ed.

As a special ed teacher, you aer ONLY suppose to help children that are IN special ed.

I don’t get why certain religions get special treatment at schools.
You don’t see Jehovah’s Witnesses getting holiday breaks, but you do Christians. Are certain religions considered more important than other in the school system or something?
How do you feel atheists? Should we even HAVE time off for religions? Shouldn’t everyone just take their own time to do their religious practices and not jeopardize their children’s education? Why should ALL children miss school JUST so a CERTAIN group of people can worship their God? It doesn’t make any sense to me! Your thoughts?

If you study History you will find that the majority of people in the US were Christians and schools set their calenders accordingly. Once Holidays are set it is hard to remove them. No it has nothing to do with separation of church and state which only had to do with making sure that the government never set up a church like was done in England.

I am looking for software that can track the websites and webpages a user has visited. For example, I am operating a wireless router that connects 5-7 users to the Internet. I am interested in what are these people are doing with my wireless service, as in are they abusing the wireless service that I am providing to them?

I am interested in how much time they are spending on the Internet, what websites they have visited or the webpages they are surfing and if they are downloading materials.

I know that such software are available on the open market but so far, I’m not sure where to find them. I am hoping for examples of such software that I can use.

Furthermore, I also wonder if the users on my wireless router can block such tracking software or If they can tack my attempts to follow them or if they will be aware if I am using such software to track them.

I undertsand that large networks and corporations routinely use such software. Are such software very expensive?

One solution is to setup a transparent proxy.

This can be done as to not interfere with access but can provide all sorts of data including every web access or you can restrict certain sites if you really want to. There are several add-ons that have been done for squid to provide reporting from the logs that it can keep. A side benefit is that using caching you can maximize bandwidth and make browsing effectively quicker for sites that are visited frequently or by multiple users.
This is basically a free solution. Any, say, old pentium machine with decent network cards, a fair amount of memory, HD space and Linux loaded on it can handle this.
You could also use something like tcpdump (a packet capture utility) which can monitor *all* traffic going through the network. This too is a free program.

The average user would have no idea if you were using any type of ‘tracking’ method. And all but the most knowledgable would be aware of certain methods (eg tcpdump can be quite difficult to determine if it is being used depending on how it is used). While it would be pretty easy for someone to realize that they are going through a proxy (eg. a random error with the proxy accessing a page) this can be excused as being in place for the speed benefit.

Many corporations probably use some commercial software, mainly because they have a budget and don’t care so much about cost as they do prettiness and nifty charts and reports that a program can make for them with ease. There is plenty of open source software that can do just as much. For more possibilities do a search on freshmeat or sourceforge.

With the new Queensland team entering the AFL, I’m interested to see how well the team will develop.
I wonder if this Queensland team will be like the Brisbane Bears when they struggled to get their team off the ground.
The fan base is also an interesting point because how many dedicated fans will be willing to give up their beloved team to support Queensland.

I’m also interested in how the untouchables will work out and who will be in each teams top 10 ‘untouchables’.

I think that the team itself will be successful, when it comes to their playing list and ability on field, but I still am not sure how they plan to gain supporters? Brisbane have one of the lowest membership figures in the AFL, so I just can’t see how another team is going to survive up there, and have an adequate fan base. I know the AFL will help them out, but how are they going to stay afloat in a few years time?

I really do not want to see this new team ‘poaching’ valuable players from other clubs, and I am not happy about the draft concessions they are going to receive. I know it’s the only way to establish a team at AFL level, but I just think it is unfair to other clubs.

Living in Canada, I need to know what indoor plants will be best for growth. Something that requires less sunlight and can survive the brisk winds that sometimes enter into the house.

Our Ficus tree does very well even with the dark winter months. Believe it or not, our Date Palm is also doing fine (I feep it right near a picture window so that, when there is sun, it gets it).

They keep our spirits up during the long winters.

I need to know how long people have gone to beaches. If you can’t figure that out do you know what the worlds first beach is called?

There is no way to tell which was the first beach as beaches predate life on earth. Even if you could tell the beach would have been gone for millions of years.
As for how long people have gone to beaches that would be about the same length of time as there have been people.

I would really like to hear from some people who have had their tungsten ring for a while now.

I want to buy my fiance a tungsten ring with a white gold or sterling silver inlay…but want to know if the inlay scratches too easily. I know the tungsten part of the ring will hold up really well, but want to hear about the inlay portion of it.

I would say so far so good. He is in construction and it hasn’t scratched or anything yet. I know hes pretty rough on his ring which is why we went with the tungsten.

i have always heard to pull off the leaves when they turn yellow and new ones will grow back. well, i have plenty of flower blooms, but no leaves, and it doesn’t look like any new leaves are coming in. any suggestions?

It could be you have been over-watering or perhaps you over-fertilized and burned the leaves.

the kentia has green yellow palms,and had a new growth coming in then it stopped growing , a year ago , does landscape lights have any thing to do with it not growing, kentia stands about 5′ high with 6′ width

The Kentia is an upright palm with beautiful, arching, dark green leaves. Its use as an indoor palm dates back to the socialite days of the Victorian era. in low light the plant may only hold 4 6 fronds, in medium light levels you may see twice as many fronds. So, generally the more indirect light the better. Which means that your landscape lights do not hurt it. Due to its larger than normal size I would recommend giving it new potting soil to restart its growth.

These palms grow pretty tall in rather small pots. When watering make sure the entire root ball is watered, and allow a least one half of the potting media to dry. DO NOT keep the root ball moist or wet all the time or rotting will occur.

How Will You Know If You Over Watered Your Kentia?
Look for the fronds with yellowing tips, then yellow speckling and followed by browning. During the winter time be especially careful not to over water your kentia.

What Happens With Underwatering?
An under watered Howea will develop tips that are brown, and the fronds will not be as erect and possibly leaning.

Kentias are slow growers. While caring for them if you must prune do so selectively to the leaves and don’t remove the entire frond.

The Kentia is a great interior plant like Rhapis, and more expensive than other palms like the Majesty Palm. A properly maintained and cared for Kentia palm can be enjoyed for years and years.
